Meet Bart M. Adams for Circuit Judge
Bart M. Adams is a husband, father, attorney, prosecutor, former municipal judge, and longtime public servant running for Third District Circuit Court Judge. His campaign is rooted in faith, family, fairness, integrity, service, and respect for the rule of law.
A native of Senatobia, Mississippi, Bart has spent his life and career serving North Mississippi. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi in 1999 and his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law in 2002. Since then, he has built more than two decades of legal experience in both private practice and public service.
Bart is a partner with Akins & Adams, P.A. in Ripley, Mississippi. His civil practice has included creditor bankruptcy, collections, litigation, and real estate transactions. Through that work, Bart has handled legal matters affecting families, businesses, landowners, and communities across North Mississippi.
Bart is currently serving his fifth term as County Prosecutor for Tippah and Benton Counties. He also serves as prosecutor for the City of Ripley, the Town of Walnut, and the Town of Blue Mountain. In these roles, Bart has worked closely with law enforcement, victims, witnesses, attorneys, court staff, and local officials. His experience as a prosecutor has strengthened his belief that the justice system must be firm, fair, and faithful to the law.
Bart has also previously served as Municipal Judge for the Town of Ashland and the City of Ripley. That experience gave him firsthand understanding of the responsibility judges carry. A judge must listen carefully, remain impartial, treat every person with dignity, and apply the law fairly to the facts of each case. Bart understands that the courtroom is not a place for politics or personal agendas. It is a place where preparation, patience, discipline, and sound judgment matter.
Beyond the courthouse, Bart has remained committed to community service. For seventeen years, he and his law partner volunteered at Ripley High School teaching government and economics classes. He also helped coach the Ripley High School boys golf team to two runner-up finishes and three state championships. These years of service reflect Bart’s belief in investing in young people and strengthening the communities that shaped him.
Bart is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the Tippah County Bar Association. He has previously served on the Board of Governors for the Mississippi Association for Justice and as the Third Circuit Court District representative for the Mississippi Prosecutors Association. He is also active in the Ripley Rotary Club, where he has served on the Board of Directors and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. Bart is involved with Ducks Unlimited and the National Wild Turkey Federation, reflecting his appreciation for Mississippi’s outdoor traditions and conservation heritage.
Bart and his wife, Amy, have two sons, Clay and Cole. They are active members of Ripley First Methodist Church, where Bart serves in several leadership roles. His faith and family remain central to who he is and continue to shape his approach to service, leadership, and community.
Bart Adams is running for Circuit Court Judge because he believes experience matters. Circuit courts handle serious criminal cases, civil disputes, jury trials, motions, hearings, and decisions that can deeply affect people’s lives. The people of the Third Circuit Court District deserve a judge who is prepared, fair, steady, and committed to applying the law with integrity.
Bart Adams is ready to serve the Third Circuit Court District with experience, fairness, and a deep commitment to North Mississippi.
